Management and Economics

About us

Members of the Management and Economics Section teach management, economics, service marketing, and the basics of demography, and apply them to health and social care. They participate in the training in non-medical health professions and social work professions in public administration, i.e., social security, state administration, public administration, and social security consultancy.

Activities

The applied basics of economics and management to the health and social field have had a strong place in the study programs of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences since its inception. Its members present their activities and research results in lectures, seminars, and conferences, and publish them in professional journals.

The section became a co-organiser of a regular international scientific conference "Human Rights in the Changes of Time" when its members were involved in the Department of Law, Management, and Economics. In addition to spreading awareness of human rights involving the Foundation of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, the section enabled meeting experts and well-known personalities dealing with current trends in the economy focused on social matters.

We aim to prepare educated workers with theoretical knowledge and practical skills based on economic scientific disciplines applied to the health and social field. Considerable demands are placed on managers who work in the helping professions. These demands include the necessary knowledge of professional issues and the ability to handle a manager's duties. Studying managerial science disciplines focuses on strategic, quality, project and process management, mastering the purposeful management of entrusted financial resources, skills related to the use of tools for employee development, and knowledge of marketing in health and social services.

Goals

The managerial and economic scientific disciplines classes aim at the performance of professions in the health and social spheres, i.e., mastering management and financing in these areas with continuous education and implementation of innovative knowledge, which is a means of developing the current society's knowledge.
