American students and teachers explore nursing education at FHSS USB

On 11 May, students and faculty members from Brigham Young University (Utah, USA) visited the Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Emergency Care at FHSS USB. The delegation included 15 students and two faculty members from the Brigham Young University College of Nursing, who met with students enrolled in the Master’s degree programme in Nursing. Their discussions focused on the nursing education systems in the Czech Republic and the United States, students’ clinical placements, and differences in the organisation of healthcare services. The students also had the opportunity to share their experiences of studying and everyday clinical practice.
The Dean of the faculty, Ivana Chloubová, stated that the faculty highly values opportunities to strengthen international contacts and create space for the exchange of experience among both students and academics, as meetings of this kind contribute to the development of modern nursing education. The importance of this cooperation was also highlighted by the Vice-Dean for International Relations, František Dolák, who noted that the meeting demonstrated how nursing students across different countries address very similar topics and challenges. “The contacts established during this visit may serve as a foundation for future cooperation in student mobility, professional activities, and the sharing of experience in nursing practice,” he said.
The meeting took place in a friendly and informal atmosphere and represented another step in the development of international cooperation between FHSS USB and its partner institutions abroad.
