Erasmus Physiotherapy Mobility at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences

PhDr. Lucia Demjanovič Kendrová, PhD., Head of the Department of Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Health Care, University of Prešov, worked at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences as part of the Erasmus+ teacher mobility from 11-15 October 2021.

At the Institute of Physiotherapy and Selected Medical Disciplines, she prepared seminars for 2nd year students of Physiotherapy on respiratory physiotherapy. The seminars for 3rd year students of Physiotherapy focused on lymphedema therapy and vascular gymnastics. It was interesting for her to meet 2nd year students from her home university who are currently engaged in their Erasmus+ studies. We currently have 2 students from the University of Prešov in the field of Physiotherapy, and 2 students from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.

Together with the Director of the Institute of Physiotherapy and Selected Medical Disciplines, MUDr. Mgr. Marcela Míková, Ph.D., she not only visited the Centre of Physiotherapy at FHSS USB, but also the ARPIDA Children's Centre for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in České Budějovice, where she was impressed by the complex interconnection of all the components of coordinated rehabilitation. On Thursday and Friday, she attended the Annual Congress of the Czech Neurosurgical Society held at the Clarion Hotel in České Budějovice. In the company of the guarantor of the physiotherapy study program, PhDr. Marek Zeman, Ph.D., she also visited the two spa houses in Slatinné Spa Třeboň, which are one of the clinical departments of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. During a comprehensive tour of the spa, she positively evaluated the modern equipment of the physiotherapy and electrotherapy departments, and the close cooperation in the implementation of clinical practice in the field.

Thus, the cooperation between the two partner universities has deepened even further and, in the "post-covid" period, a new stage of further development has begun; especially in project activities in the field of diagnosis and therapy of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
