Members of the Institute of Nursing, Midwifery, and Emergency Care, Mgr. František Dolák, Ph.D., PhDr. Andrea Hudáčková, Ph.D., Mgr. Lucie Vlkojanová, and Mgr. Veronika Jílková visited the Tartu Health Care College in Estonia from May 29th to June 1st. The visit was part of the international Erasmus+ project "Automated External Defibrillators Save Lives," in which the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences USB is a co-investigator. The purpose of the stay was to familiarize ourselves with the model and possibilities of using automated external defibrillators in Estonia. Dr. Dolák, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences USB for international relations, summarised: "The program that had been prepared for us fully corresponded to the project's objectives. We were able to gain insight into the pre-hospital care system and the functioning of the Estonian emergency medical service, including its dispatch centre. Our colleagues also organized excursions to hospitals in Tartu and the South Estonian Hospital. The meeting with the representative of the Setomaa municipal office, who outlined the possibilities of healthcare and community care in rural areas, was also very beneficial."
