Professor Valérie Tóthová was awarded an honorary doctorate from Trnava University

Trnava University conferred honorary doctorates on two distinguished foreign experts on Monday, May 13, 2024. The first of these honorary doctorates was awarded to the Vice-Dean for Science and Research and Director of the Institute of Nursing, Midwifery, and Emergency Care, Prof. PhDr. Valérie Tóthová, Ph.D. She became the first professor in the Czech Republic in the field of nursing and is recognized in the scientific community as an expert who influences the development of nursing in the Czech Republic.

The acting rector of Trnava University, Prof. Miloš Lichner, SJ, also presented an honorary doctorate to Professor Michael F. Kolarcik, SJ. This Canadian Jesuit of Slovak origin, emeritus rector of the Pontifical Biblical Institute (Biblicum), served in the 1990s at the Theological Institute of St. Alojz in Bratislava, which later transformed into the Theological Faculty of Trnava University, and at several research institutions worldwide. He is particularly interested in the Old Testament, specifically in wisdom literature. Trnava University has conferred the honorary title of doctor honoris causa on 53 distinguished scientific authorities in its history. Among its recipients are already 23 individuals from abroad.
