The Faculty of Health and Social Studies, USB, is discussing a project in China called Senior Resort

The Dean of FHSS, USB, has signed a contract of cooperation with the Czech-Central Asian Mixed Chamber of Commerce.

Professionals from the Faculty of Health and Social Studies of the University of South Bohemia will have the chance to participate in forming systems for centres of care for seniors, which will then grow in Kunming, Yunnan province, south China. The Dean of the Faculty has recently signed a contract of cooperation with the Czech-Central Asian Mixed Chamber of Commerce which helps to develop economic relations and business co-operation among Czech and foreign entrepreneurial subjects.

The Chamber has chosen the Faculty because of its high professional standards, and for the participation of its research staff who will bring research studies and projects prepared for particular clients. The FHSS (USB) has rich experience in this field, which results  from its almost 25-year history. Study programmes focused on care of the elderly have been offered by the faculty since its foundation. Teachers as well as students regularly attend care homes, and many of the graduates work there,  some of them even manage such a facility. Thanks to this, the faculty has sufficient information on the services necessary for providing a dignified old age, with proven methods, and suitable care in terms of both the  physical and mental aspects of the elderly. Population ageing is an international topic and  different nations can mutually inspire each other.

The Dean of FHSS (USB) prof. PhDr. Valérie Tóthová, Ph.D said:“In China this problem is huge because of the one child policy, which has been  in place  for the last 30 years. This means  caring for  parents in their old age is more difficult for  relatives   than in countries where families are larger,,”

The content of the project, called Senior Resort, includes  full supply and implementation, which means  running the facilities for the care of seniors using  the most modern international standards in China, as well as the education of Chinese specialists in the field of care for seniors.
