The  Institute of Social and Special-paedagogical Sciences prepared a diverse programme for international colleagues

In October, the Institute of Social and Special-paedagogical Sciences at the FHSS USB hosted visiting colleagues from abroad: Prof. Dr. Sanela Šadić and Assoc. Prof. Anida Dudić-Sijamija from the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Political Sciences (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Prof. Mark Small, J.D., Ph.D., from the Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life at Clemson University (USA).

The professional programme in the field of social work included not only meetings with students and faculty members, but also visits to several of the faculty’s clinical partner institutions: the ARPIDA centre for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities, the Máj home for seniors, and the V.I.P. low-threshold centre for children and youth. The guests and hosts shared theoretical insights, practical experience, and examples of good practice related to social work and social services in their respective countries. The programme also included a visit to the historic centre of Český Krumlov.

“Our cooperation with the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Political Sciences has been successfully carried out within the Erasmus+ KA171 international credit mobility programme and will continue during the next three-year period, 2025–2028,” said PhDr. Lenka Žižka Motlová, Ph.D., on behalf of the organizers.

She emphasized that students of the Social Work and Health and Social Care programmes at the FHSS USB have the opportunity to take part in student mobility and complete professional internships at the University of Sarajevo starting in the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Likewise, academic staff from the FHSS USB may participate in teaching mobilities and further develop professional cooperation. Conversely, the faculty will host social work students and lecturers from the University of Sarajevo for study and teaching stays in České Budějovice.
